About Us

The mission of Duke Division of Pediatric Nephrology is to combine the delivery of outstanding clinical services with world-class research and teaching. To this end, the programs in the division are structured to address the most pressing needs facing patients and their families with kidney disease.

Areas of emphasis include expert diagnosis, treatment and management of all types of nephrologic and hypertensive disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. Therapies range from medical management to renal replacement therapy. We also offer experienced counseling to families of fetuses diagnosed with renal abnormalities.

The program is based at Duke Children’s, which is consistently ranked in the national U.S. News and World Best Children’s Hospitals report, and is comprised of pediatric nephrologists, pediatric radiologists, a pediatric nurse, a pediatric dietitian, and a pediatric social worker who are dedicated to providing expert clinical care for infants and children with kidney disorders.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology also works closely with outstanding programs in adult nephrology, pediatric urology and transplant surgery.
