Duke Pediatrics has a long history of participation in the NIH Child Health Research Career Development Award (CHRCDA) Program. Prior to 2021 and the funding of Duke CAtCH, the department held a K12 award, Center for Molecular and Cellular Studies of Pediatric Disease, from 2003-2018. The program has been led by several of the department chairs--including Michael Frank, Joseph St. Geme, and currently, Ann Reed. The program has supported a total 20 junior faculty members. Collectively, these investigators have contributed substantially to many fields of pediatric research, advancing the research mission of the department. Many remain at Duke, while some have moved on to other academic institutions.
