What are the strengths of your training program?
There is a “family feel” among fellows, faculty, and staff. Faculty are exceptional teachers and very dedicated to the fellows’ experience.

How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
I am involved in translational research studying metabolomics of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Additionally, I am working on a project studying barriers faced by patients with diabetes who use a preferred language other than English. My interests are in obesity, diabetes, and health disparities.

How do you spend your time outside of work?
I enjoy exploring different restaurants in the Triangle with my husband and friends. I also love getting the chance to travel whenever I can- whether it be any easy trip to the beach or mountains, or a further destination when we have the time.
