What are the strengths of your training program?
The diversity of pathology and respiratory diseases. Also, having a certified neuromuscular center give us a great exposure and learning opportunity in how to take care of patients with neuromuscular diseases.

How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
I’m part of ElMallah lab that focuses on the control of breathing and pulmonary mechanics in murine models of several genetic diseases. My interests and research are on immunosuppression and redosing of AAV gene therapy to treat the respiratory insufficiency in Duchene Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). In addition, I’m part of the PROSER T32 program. 

How do you spend your time outside of work?
Having quality time with my family and dogs and doing hiking.
