Program:
Cardiology
Start Year: 2024
Hometown:
St. Albans, West Virginia
What are the strengths of your training program?
Even though Duke is a large heart center with high volumes and complex cardiac anatomy, there is still the feel of a close-knit program with great faculty support. We are not a fellow-dependent program which allows more emphasis on education.
How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
I have an interest in sports medicine/exercise and hope to find an avenue to blend this into a project involving congenital heart disease during fellowship.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’ve recently become a new father and enjoying parenthood with my wife. Some of my hobbies include live music, sporting events, golf, craft beer, and snowboarding. I also love to cook and have established myself as a North Carolinian by buying a smoker a few years ago. I’m a huge sports junkie and especially love my West Virginia Mountaineers and Cleveland Browns.
