From March 2 to 6, 2020, the Duke Department of Pediatrics will celebrate its second annual literacy week. The celebration coincides with National Read Across America Day on March 2 in recognition of Dr. Seuss's birthday.

Poliovirus therapy shows potential as cancer vaccine in lab studies
A modified form of poliovirus, pioneered at Duke Cancer Institute as a therapy for glioblastoma brain tumors, appears in laboratory studies to also have applicability for pediatric brain tumors when used as part of a cancer vaccine.

2020 Pediatrics Research Retreat
The Department of Pediatrics Research Retreat will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. This annual event offers the opportunity for students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, residents, research assistants, research associates, research scientists and faculty members in the department to engage in collaborative discussions and showcase current research.
