Balevic, Surana, and Wong elected to SPR

Stephen Balevic, MD, assistant professor of pediatrics (Rheumatology) and assistant professor of medicine; Neil Surana, MD, PhD, assistant professor of pediatrics (Infectious Diseases), and assistant professor of medicine; and Charlene Wong, MD, MSPH, associate professor of pediatrics (General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health) and associate professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy, have been elected to the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR).

They will be inducted at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) annual meeting, April 21 - 25, 2022 in Denver, C0.

The mission of the Society for Pediatric Research is to foster the research and career development of investigators engaged in creating new knowledge that advances the health and well-being of children and youth. SPR membership signifies peer recognition of substantial achievements in pediatric research and is conferred on only those physician-scientists with impressive research records.

According to Ann M. Reed, MD, Samuel L. Katz Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics and chair of the Department of Pediatrics, "Election to the SPR represents a true distinction, and Charlene, Neil and Stephen are highly deserving of this recognition.”
