Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was seeking a training-ground that clearly equipped its residents with a passion for pediatrics and a group of leaders that inspire. A place that promoted flourishing as humans. Not just a program, but a relationship. A family of uniquely wonderful people with a common goal. A place where I was more than just a number. On my interview day, Duke had that stand out quality. The leadership took genuine interest and cared to know me, my family, hopes, and dreams. They also clearly took the time to read my full application/statement, a very unique quality I found. Maybe most importantly, the resident relationships were organic and genuine - the people you will do life with day by day.

What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?

About Duke and Durham

What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love to play tennis, pickleball (huge movement right now in the triangle), cycling, golf, walk with my wife and Golden Retriever around the whimsical streets, neighborhoods, and parks around the area! We also love to garden and grow food/flowers, also spend an afternoon or two in the amazing gardens at Duke. Food excursions around town and chasing down live music/shows which the triangle boasts frequently! Also, of course, cheer on my Clemson Tigers at any and every opportunity.
