Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I wanted a medium size program with a tight-knit feel, and that’s exactly what I’ve found at Duke. I also loved the program director (shout out Mia) who is laid back and goes up to bat for her residents. The global health program here and ability to go abroad for two months during third year also drew me in, as I’m very passionate about global health!
What are the strengths of the Duke Program?
Hands down the biggest strength in my opinion is the inviting culture between the residents here. We all get along, see each other outside of work, and have cultivated some of the strongest friendships of a lifetime.

What is something interesting/surprising about you?
I love global health and remote travel and have spent a month or more living in rural areas in Peru, Ghana, Thailand, Laos, and Panama (x2)!
