What are the strengths of your training program?
There are several strengths of our program! When I interviewed, I was drawn to the integration of the adult and pediatric rheumatology programs at Duke, and I very much feel a part of both programs as a fellow. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to learn from attendings who are leaders within the field and are passionate about fellow education. My co-fellows are also doing meaningful and innovative work that makes me excited about their work and the future of rheumatology.
How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
My research interests include women’s health/gender based care, palliative care, and narrative medicine for rheumatology patients across the age spectrum. As a first year fellow, I’ve been working to finish a few projects that I began prior to fellowship. I’m also working to find community and potential new projects with colleagues at Duke (and across the country) with similar interests.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m an avid reader, indoor gardener, and baker! I'm currently working to perfect my bagel recipe.
