Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium sized program with a supportive, friendly medical team atmosphere. I also wanted a program where I could see a wide variety of complex patient cases, and one with exposure to many pediatric subspecialties. I was also looking for a program that I felt would give me a strong foundation in primary care pediatrics.
What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?
About Duke and Durham
What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
I grew up in the triangle area and always knew I wanted to move back. There is a lot of surrounding nature, plenty of outdoor activities, nearby universities, and great food! I also like that both the beach and the mountains are within driving distance which make for fun weekend trips.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my daughter, husband, and the rest of my NC family is my go to activity outside of work. I also love to run in my spare time or do pretty much anything outdoors: hiking, swimming, or hanging at the beach.
