What are the strengths of your training program?
Titans in the field have shaped the history of our program, including Dr. Rebecca Buckley, who revolutionized the diagnosis and treatment of severe combined immune deficiency, and Dr. Mary Louise Markert, who pioneered thymus transplantation. Today, the Duke program continues to excel in clinical immunology, but we are also exposed to a breadth of allergy patients and strike an excellent balance between pediatric and adult care. The best part of the Duke program though is the people – the faculty are remarkably supportive and simply good people!

How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
I am interested in eventually having my own research lab in addition to seeing patients. My research interests lie in basic B-cell biology and in the origins of B-cell mediated autoimmune disease. Previously, my work has focused on the genetics of inborn errors of immunity.

How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m a Durham native and take advantage of all that North Carolina has to offer. On long weekends, I like to go the mountains to fly fish or to the beach with friends. In Durham, I like to eat at many of the amazing restaurants and run outside.
