Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
I was looking for a supportive and collaborative environment that offers great exposure to not only oncology but also heme and transplant.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Duke offers a good balance of "bread and butter" heme/onc, rare or unusual pathologies, and stem cell transplant in a friendly and collaborative environment.

How are you involved in research? What are your research interests?
I am currently working with our PTCT group on a pilot for a novel conditioning regimen for patients with high-risk hematologic malignancies undergoing HSCT. I am also interested in better understanding the effects of social determinants of health on outcomes in our heme/onc and transplant populations peri-treatment and in survivorship.

About Duke University and Durham

What’s the best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The area has a great food scene and lots of access to fun outdoor activities.

Personal interests

What do you like to do outside of work?
I like cooking and baking, yoga, cross stitching, and watching sports (Go Heels!).
