Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium-sized program that offered a variety of clinical experiences and the opportunity to learn about both general pediatrics and complex subspecialty care. Most of all, I was looking for a program that felt like family with a culture focused on caring for one another.
What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?
I am interested in medical education, community advocacy and improving resident wellness.
About Duke and Durham
What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
There are too many good things about living in Durham to pick just one - but the weather and the cost of living is probably at the top of the list. It is also so nice to have Chapel Hill and Raleigh only 20 minutes down the road, there is always something going on! And its close enough to the mountains and the beach to make a weekend trip to either.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, and dog. We love spending time outside, going for hikes, camping and exploring. I also love reading when I can find the time.
