Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a residency program where I would be nurtured and supported. Residency is tough, especially if you are living far away from your support system, and I knew that I would have to find that support through residency.

What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?

Adolescent medicine, providing excellent mental healthcare in primary care setting.

What are the strengths of the Duke Program?

My co-residents are by far the best part of residency! Other strengths include excellent inpatient training, exposure to complex patients and living in Durham.

About Duke and Durham

What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
So many things! Durham is wonderfully diverse with awesome food. I joke that you can get wherever you need to go in 10 minutes, including nature trails to decompress after work.

What do you like to do outside of work?
Hike, go to concerts, surf, travel.
