Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
Clinically,I wanted a program with high volume and acuitywhere the fellows were given a lot of responsibility and decision making. I also wanted a program that was supportive of research with mentors that have my best interest in mind.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Having attendings not in house overnight (but always available by phone!) has been immensely helpful for my growth and decision-makingconfidence as a neonatologist. The research mentorship is definitely why I chose to stay at Duke—my mentors were very invested in me during residency and I knew they would continue to be supportive in my fellowship.

About Duke University and Durham

What’s your favorite part about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The restaurant scene is really great here, especially living downtown. I also love that you’re not too far away from the beach or the mountains if you wanted a weekend getaway.

Personal interests

What do you like to do outside of work?
Reading, working out on my Peloton, playing with my dog
