Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium sized program that had a good team atmosphere, positive environment, and focus on service. I hoped for a program with high acuity and a diverse patient population in a setting where I could learn the most academically and gain confidence to become the best physician I could be in the future.
What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?
I am interested in community involvement and service opportunities both inside and outside of medicine. I also really enjoy education, learning, and teaching and the educational structure and opportunities available as part of regular work responsibilities and daily patient care.

What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Durham is a place that is easy to get around, with short commutes and many things all within close proximity, including many different types of activities. There are many restaurants, stores, event venues, and various outdoor recreational opportunities, and the airport is close and easily accessible for travel or visiting family or friends.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to spend time with my husband, family, and friends. I enjoy outdoor activities, going on walks, trying new foods, exploring new areas, playing games, and watching TV and movies.
