Ann M. Reed, MD, Samuel L. Katz Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics, Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Physician-in-Chief of Duke Children's, recently announced that P. Brian Smith, MD, MPH, MHS, Samuel L. Katz Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology, has been named Chair for the Department of Pediatrics’ Academic Promotion and Tenure Committee.
As Chair of the Academic Promotion and Tenure Committee, Dr. Smith will provide leadership on faculty advancement and development. In addition, he will work closely with Jasmine Willis-Wallace, EdD, Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the new Vice Chair for Faculty for the Duke Department of Pediatrics, to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of faculty advancement.
Dr. Smith succeeds Mara Becker, MD, MSCE, who served in this role since July 15, 2019. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Smith on his new appointment.
