May 2022

Rasheed Gbadegesin (Nephrology) received an award from Fibrogen, Inc. for a project entitled, FGN-Ped-Clin-o2 (SSU). The project period is 04/27/2022-04/30/2023. 

Elizabeth Gifford (Sanford School of Public Policy), Jillian Hurst (Infectious Diseases) and Lindsay Terrell (Child Abuse and Neglect) received an award from The Duke Endowment for a project entitled, Avenues for Prevention and Early Intervention to Address Child Maltreatment. The project period is 07/01/2022-06/30/2024. 

Laurie Graves (Hematology-Oncology) received an award from MIB Agents Family Fund Award for travel to the Factor Conference. The project period is 040/01/2022-06/30/2022. 

Neil Nenard Bursac (Biomedical Engineering) and Andrew Landstrom (Cardiology) received an award from the National Institutes of Health/NIBIB for a project entitled, Engineered BacNav and BacCav for Improved Excitability and Contraction. The project period is 05/01/2022-01/31/2026. 

Monica Lemmon (Neurology) received an award from the University of California of San Francisco for a project entitled, NSR-Gene (Neonatal Seizure Registry, Genetics of PostNeonatal Epilepsy). The project period is 04/01/2022-03/31/2027. 

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) received an award from Kriya Therapeutics Project Addendum for a project entitled, AAV Gene Therapy for the Treatment of GSD IX Y2: Determination of Titer fof Duke AAVs using Kriya Titering. The project period is 05/26/2022-12/31/2022.

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) received an award from Kriya Therapeutics Project Addendum for a project entitled, AAV Gene Therapy for the Treatment of GSC IX y2: Determination of Efficacy between Duke Plasmids and Kriya Plasmids for Restoring PHKG22. The project period is 04/28/2022-12/31/2022. 

Monica Lemmon (Neurology) received an award from the University of California of San Francisco for a project entitled, NSR-Gene (Neonatal Seizure Registry, Genetics of PostNeonatal Epilepsy). The project period is 04/01/2022-03/31/2027. 

Kristy Pahl (Hematology-Oncology) received an award from Children’s Hospital of LA for a project entitled, Prospective Validation of a Venous Thrombosis Risk Assessment Model in Critically Ill Children from the CHAT Registry (CHAT 1901). The project period is 02/01/2022-06/30/2022. 

Jennifer Rothman (Hematology-Oncology) received an award from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services for a project entitled, NC Sickle Cell Contract. The project period is 06/01/2022-05/31/2023. 

Sarah Young (Medical Genetics) received an award from Research Triangle Institute International for a project entitled, INewborn Screening Pilot Studies IDIQ with TO B, MPSII. The project period is 09/28/2021-09/27/2023. 

Muhammad Zafar (Neurology) received an award from Neurocrine Bioscience for a project entitled, NBI-827104-CSWS2025. The project period 05/06/2022-08/05/2024.

June 2022 

Jennifer Hoffman (Nicholas School of the Environment) and Jillian Hurst (Infectious Diseases) received an award from the National Institutes of Health for a project entitled, Impact of Early-life Exposure to Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) on Neonatal and Early Childhood. The project period is 02/01/2022-01/31/2027. 

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) received an award from Kriya Therapeutics for a project entitled, AAV Gene Therapy for the Treatment of Glycogen Storage Disease IX y2. The project period is 03/02/2022-12/31/2022. 

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) received an award from Kriya Therapeutics for a project entitled, AAV-mPhkg2 Gene Therapy for the Treatment of GSC IXy2. The project period is 06/16/2022-03/31/2023.

Michael Moody (Infectious Diseases) received an award from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill/Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for a project entitled, Genomic Epidemiology of Treponema Pallidum Strains Infecting Women and Men in Low-Income Countries to Inform Syphilis Vaccine Development (INV-036560). The project period is 11/02/2021-10/31/2022.

Vinod Prasad received an award from Allovir, Inc. for a project entitled”AlloVirP-105”  The project period is 05/23/2022-03/31/2025. 

Sharla Rent received an award from the National Palliative Care Research Center for a grant entitled” Supporting Families after Perinatal Loss in Tanzania”.  The project period is 07/01/2022-06/30/2024. 

Vandana Shashi (Medical Genetics) received a supplemental award from the National Institutes of Health/NHGRI for a project entitled, An Integrated and Diverse Genomic Medicine Program for Undiagnosed Diseases. The project period 07/01/2022-06/30/2023. 

Ashley Stark (Neonatology) and Rachel Greenberg (Neonatology) received an award from Thrasher Research Fund for a project entitled, Pharmacokinetics of Clonidine Administered in the Infant Population. The project period is 07/01/2022-06/30/2024.

Lars Wagner (Hematology-Oncology) received an award from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for a project entitled, Longitudinal Multimodal Assessment of Neuropsychological. The project period is 06/01/2022-05/31/2023. 

Emanuel Walter (Infectious Diseases) received an award from Clinetic Inc. for a project entitled, EHR Surveillance of Lower Respiratory Tract (LRTI) and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Infants. The project period is 05/16/2022-03/14/2023. 

Sarah Young (Medical Genetics) received an award from Research Triangle Institute for a project entitled, National Screening Pilot Studies IDIQ with TO B, MPS II. The project period 09/28/2021-09/27/2027.
