New and competing renewal awards for March 2022

The following is a list of new and competing renewal awards that were made to faculty in the Department of Pediatrics for the month of March 2022. Please extend your congratulations to the following individuals. 

Gregory Fleming (Cardiology) received an award from Medtronic Inc. in the amount of $153,250 for a project entitled, Harmony TPV Post-Approval Study (Harmony PAS 2). The project period is 03/24/2022-12/31/2031.

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) received an award from Takeda Technologies in the amount of $240,599 for a project entitled, Immunophenotyping of patients with MPS II treated with enzyme replacement therapy. The project period is 01/31/2022-10/31/2024. 

Andrew Landstrom (Cardiology) received an award from the John Taylor Babbitt Foundation in the amount of $75,000 for a project entitled, Establishing the Role of DSP in Inflammation-Induced ARRH. The project period is 03/01/2022- 02/28/2023. 

Alisha Mavis (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition) received an award from Albireo AB in the amount of $355,561 for a project entitled, A double-blind Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Odevixibat (A4250) in Children with biliary Atresia Who have Undergone a Kasi Hepatoportoenterostomy. The project period is 03/14/2022-03/02/2024. 

Alisha Mavis (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition) received an award from Lurie Children’s Hospital in the amount of $54,640 for a project entitled, Pediatric Acute Liver Failure Immune Response Network. The project period is 06/15/2021-05/1/2026. 

Richard Noel (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition) received an award from The Mario Family Foundation in the amount of $454,000 for a project entitled, An Invitation to Support the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition -Option 2. The project period is 01/01/2022-12/31/2026. 

Vinod Prasad (Transplant and Cellular Therapy) received an award from SymBio Pharmaceuticals in the amount of $66,277 for a project entitled, A Phase 2a Open-label Multiple Ascending Dose Confirmation Study of the Safety and Tolerability of Intravenous Brincidofovir in Subjects with Adenovirus Infection. The project period is 02/23/2022-12/02/2025. 

John Sleasman (Allergy and Immunology) received an award from Enzyvant in the amount of $1,115,775 for a project entitled, Congenital Athymia Patient Registry. The project period is 02/28/2022-02/27/2027. 

Edward Smith (Neurology) received an award from Sarepta Therapeutics in the amount of $278,851 for a project entitled, A Phase 3 Multinational, Randomized, Double-Blind Placebo Controlled Systemic Gene Delivery Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of SRP 9001 in Subjects with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The project period is 03/04/2022-12/31/2022. 

Klaus Werner (Neurology) received an award from Noema Pharma in the amount of $169,182 for a project entitled, A Phase 2b Multicenter 30 week, Prospective Cross-over Double-blind Randomized Placebo-controlled Study Followed by a 52-week Open Label Extension Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Basimglurant Adjunctive to Ongoing Anticonvulsive. The project period is 03/01/2022-05/01/2024.
