The project period 04/09/2020-10/08/2021.

Kristin Schroeder, MD, MPH (Hematology-Oncology) received an award from The Regents of the University of California UCLA in the amount of $16,345 for a project entitled “AIDS Malignancy Consortium”. The project period is 09/01/2019- 08/31/2020.

Danny Benjamin, MD, PhD, MPH (Infectious Diseases) received an award from National Institutes of Health/NCATS in the amount of $869,057 for a project entitled” COVID-19 Supplement- Center for Innovative TRIals in ChilDrEN and AduLTs (TRIDENT”. The project period is 07/15/2020-06/30/2021.

Sallie Permar, MD, PhD (Infectious Diseases) and Jennifer Jenks (MSTP/MGM Graduate Student) received an award from National CMV Foundation   in the amount of $10,000 for a project entitled” Strategies to Target CMV Glycoprotein B Antigenic Domain-2 B Cell Lineage Maps”. The project period is 04/01/2020-03/31/2021.

Emmanuel Walter, MD, MPH (Infectious Diseases) received an award from National Institutes of Health in the amount of $317,734 for a project entitled” VETU Task Area A- FY2020.A1B1C1D1.0123 – Option 1”. The project period is 07/12/2020-07/11/2021. 

Deeksha Bali, PhD (Medical Genetics) received an award from JCR Pharmaceuticals in the amount of $ 74,933 for a project entitled” Method Development and Data Validations for MPSII”. The project period is 07/01/2020 -06/30/2021.

Dwight Koeberl, MD, PhD (Medical Genetics) received an award from National Institutes of Health/NIAMSD in the amount of $379,393 for a project entitled” Genome Editing for the Correction of Pompe Disease”. The project period is 07/20/2020-06/30/2022.

Dwight Koeberl, MD, PhD (Medical Genetics) received an award from Moderna Therapeutics in amount of $384,019 for a project entitled “A Global, Phase 1/2, Open-label, and Dose Escalation Study to Evaluate the Safety, Pharmacodynamics, and Pharmacokinetics of mRNA-3927 in Participants with Propionic Acidemia”.  The project period is 07/13/2020-4/30/2022.

Vandana Shashi, MD, MBBS (Medical Genetics) and David Goldstein, PhD (Columbia University)  received a supplemental award from National Institute of Health/NHGRI in the amount of $146,047 for a project entitled “An Integrated and Diverse Genomic Medicine Program for Undiagnosed Diseases”. The project period is 07/29/2020-06/30/2021.

William Malcolm, MD (Neonatology) received an award from Cheisi in amount of $425,700 for a project entitled “A Phase II, multicenter, double blind, double dummy, randomized, 2 arms parallel study to evaluate the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of CHF6563 in babies with Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome”.  The project period is 07/01/2020-06/30/2021.

Eric Benner, MD, PhD (Neoatology) and Agnes Chao, MD (Neonatology Fellow) and received an award from American Academy Pediatrics Fellowship in the amount of $5,000 for a project entitled” Therapeutic Potential of Oxysterols in Neonatal White Matter Injury”. The project period is 07/01/2020-06/30/2021.

Muhammad Zafar, MD (Neurology) received an award from SK Life Sciences in amount of $76,847 for a project entitled “Phase I, Open-Label Study of Carisbamate in Adult and Pediatric Subjects with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome”. The project period is 07/07/2020-07/06/2021.

Carolyn Avery, MD, MHS (Primary Care) received an award from American Academy of Pediatrics in the amount of $75,000 for project entitled “Carolinas Collaborative 2.0 Strengthening Support for Vulnerable Families”. The project period is 03/01/2020-11/30/2022.
