February 2020

Amelia Thompson, MD, MPH (Infectious Diseases) received an award from Moderna Therapeutics, Inc., in the amount of $91,190 for a project entitled, A Phase 1b, Randomized, Observer-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Dose Ranging Study to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of mRNA-1653 a Combined Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV) and Parainfluenza Virus T. Charlene Wong, MD, MSPH (Primary Care Pediatrics) received an award from Kate B. Reynolds in the amount of $439,524 for a  project entitled Characterizing Health Disparities in the Shift of North Carolina Medicaid Managed Care. The award period is 02/01/2020-01/31/2021.

March 2020

Pinar Gumus Balikcioglu, MD, MHS (Endocrinology) received an award from Diabetes Research Connection in the amount of $75,000 for a project entitled Branched Chain Amino Acids: Metabolomic Predictors of Skeletal Muscle Mass Accrual and Glycemic Control Among Children with Type 1 diabetes. The project period is 01/01/2020-12/31/2020.

Rachel Greenberg, MD (Neonatology) received an award from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the amount of $54,570 for a project entitled Maternal and Neonatal Group B Streptococcus Seroepidemiol. The project period is 09/30/2019-09/29/2020/2020.

Christoph Hornik, MD, MPH (Critical Care Medicine) and Kanecia Zimmerman, MD, MPH (Critical Care Medicine) received an award from the National Institutes of Health/NICHD in the amount of $60,285 for a project entitled Pediatric Critical Care Research Landscape-a National Expert Conference. Genevieve Fouda, PhD (Infectious Diseases) received an award from National Institutes of Health/NICHD in the amount of $442,750 for a project entitled “Molecular Signatures of Broad Neutralization in HIV Infected Children”. The project period is 05/06/2020-04/30/2022.

Priya Kishnani, MD, MBBS (Medical Genetics) received an award from Amicus Therapeutics in the amount of $451,734 for a project entitled “A Phase 3 Double-Blind Randomized Study To Assess The Efficacy And Safety of Intravenous ATB200 Co-Administered With Oral AT2221 In Adult Subjects With Late-Onset Pompe Disease Compared With Alglucosidase Alfa/Placebo”.
