Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?I was looking for a group of people and a location that made me feel "at home". I wanted a residency program that would teach me, support me, and encourage me to be the best pediatrician I could be. And lastly, I needed to be in a program that would welcome my husband (and dog!) into the residency family!

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Duke has incredible teachers, a supportive environment, and a very diverse patient population that allows me to see almost anything I might encounter in the future. Another strength is how eager the residents and staff are to help get me involved in advocacy and research!

About Duke and Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
We love Durham and are having a blast exploring the city! Our favorite things so far have been the food and the hiking trails! My husband works in Research Triangle Park and it has been so great being close to a huge amount of research opportunities and people that share common interests like medicine and science!

What advice would you give about moving to Durham?
Bug spray is a must. :) But more importantly, be prepared for the amount of amazing food you'll have to try when you move here!

Personal interests

What do you like to do outside of work?
I love a good movie now and then, but when the temperature is just right, you'll find me outside hiking/swimming/running!

What is something interesting/surprising about you?
It's probably more weird than interesting, but I can read and write Morse code!
