Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a place that would provide excellent training for general pediatrics, but also give a wide breadth of exposure to all types of sick kids. Somewhere that I knew I would become a strong pediatrician that had supportive faculty and relatable co-residents.
About Duke and Durham
What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
I love living in Durham. The real estate market is great, and it’s very easy to find places to live downtown or more into the suburbs if you like, all less than 20 min. from the hospital. There’s delicious food everywhere, and between the Triangle and other cities (Charlotte, Asheville), there is also something cool to do.
Personal interests
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with my husband Roman, dancing, and shopping for interior design. I also built a very strong community at my church in Raleigh (Victory Church) during medical school, and thankfully have been able to maintain that thus far during residency. I’m very glad to be able to stay balanced.
