Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium-sized academic program where the residents would get plenty of exposure to both bread-and-better general pediatrics as well as the rarer, unique cases that are typically seen at tertiary care centers.
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
Having attended Duke for medical school, I got to experience firsthand how close-knit the residents here are. Not only do they work well together, but they’re also extremely supportive of each other. Also, the faculty are highly-accomplished and are very passionate about teaching trainees.

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
All of the great restaurants! There's something for everyone here - amazing food, great opportunities for hiking/outdoor activities and the cost-of-living is hard to beat. Also, the mountains and the beaches are each only ~3 hours away. And the weather is amazing!

What do you like to do outside of work?
Trying out new restaurants/bars, traveling, game nights, watching movies, group fitness classes, bingeing "Friends" on Netflix.
What is something interesting/surprising about you?
I'm a triple Dukie!
