REFLECTIONS ON THE DUKE PROGRAM

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program with strong clinical training, a supportive and collaborative culture, and opportunities to explore my interests while growing into a confident pediatrician. I also really valued finding a place where I could genuinely see myself being happy both in and outside of the hospital!

What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you?
I'm already involved with the Wellness Committee and am excited to continue contributing to individual and residency-wide wellness! I'm also interested in getting involved in QI, mentorship, and advocacy as I continue to explore my clinical interests.

What are you looking forward to most about living in Durham and the Triangle?
I love that Durham feels like it has the best of both worlds. There is always something new to eat, see, or do, while also being close to my family and within easy reach of the mountains, beach, and other spots for golden weekend trips!

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, you can usually find me trying a new restaurant or coffee shop, in a hot yoga or pilates class, reading, or planning my next trip. I also love hosting friends and family whenever I get the chance!

What is something interesting/surprising about you?
I am a huge OKC Thunder fan and went to a game in every round of their playoff run!
