What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a program that provided excellent training in all areas of pediatrics and offered a range of opportunities so that I could find my niche. I also wanted to join a close-knit, supportive program that fosters friendship among residents. Duke has been welcoming since the very beginning!

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The food and drink scene is so good! There's a huge range of great restaurants, breweries, and food halls. There are loads of outdoors activities as well (e.g. parks, running/biking trails) and both the mountains and the beach are only a couple hours drive away. My husband and I have been in Raleigh for 3 years, and we're still finding new things to do in the Triangle!
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love to run and go on hikes with my husband. We also love exploring new restaurants and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
