REFLECTIONS ON THE DUKE PROGRAM

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a supportive, collaborative academic environment, with close-knit co-residents and faculty who were invested in my growth. I also wanted a medium-sized program with strong clinical breadth, opportunities to explore subspecialties and find mentorship, and the academic and clinical training to prepare me for long-term success. Duke checked all of these boxes!

What are you looking forward to most about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Having grown up in Raleigh and spent time in other parts of the country, I'm excited to return home and explore all that Durham has to offer, including its great food and brewery scene and easy access to nature. I'm also looking forward to spending more time with my family and heading to Raleigh for a few Carolina Hurricanes games this year!

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing volleyball, spending time in nature, and crafting. Lately, I've been especially into needlepoint and scrapbooking!

What is something interesting/surprising about you?
I've hiked to the top of a mountain in three different countries.
