REFLECTIONS ON THE DUKE PROGRAM

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a residency that prioritized my learning, while fostering my professional and personal growth. I wanted somewhere I could grow as a clinician and offered numerous opportunities for mentorship and career exploration.

What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you?
The research opportunities are a big advantage and Duke offers great resources for anything you are interested in. I enjoy being involved with the surrounding community and caring for the pediatric population. As a Child Neurology resident, my research interests include brain-mapping during epilepsy surgery, advancing therapeutics in neurogenetic syndromes, and optimizing neurodevelopmental outcomes in neurocritical care.

MORE ABOUT THE RESIDENT

What are you looking forward to most about living in Durham and the Triangle?
I'm looking forward to being in a medium-sized city with ample to do even on weekdays. Having lived in a rural area and the metropolitan NJ/NYC area, Durham is a great in-between. Theres great places downtown but also close to many parks and lakes.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to read non-fiction, play board games, spend time with friends and family, and forever on the hunt for the best espresso martini.

What is something interesting/surprising about you?
I can do karaoke anytime anywhere.
