Reflections on the Duke program
What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium-sized program that would offer a supportive learning atmosphere while challenging me to grow into the best physician possible. It was also important for me to choose a program that fostered bonding among residents, inside and outside the hospital. I was hoping for my residency program to feel like a home away from home, and I am fortunate to have found all of this in Duke Peds!
What do you want to get involved in at Duke that particularly interests you (i.e. committees, research, interest groups, QI, etc.)?
About Duke and Durham
What’s best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
I moved to Durham after never living in this region of the country before, and I have loved every aspect of it! The people are especially approachable and friendly, and it is so nice being able to drive to the beach or mountains within a few hours either way, endless opportunities for day trips!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love anything outdoorsy! Growing up in the desert of Las Vegas, I can't get enough of how beautiful the trees are in this city. I enjoy finding new trails, exploring restaurants, and having a nice pool day with my co-residents on our time off!
