Benjamin Named Vice Chair for Practice

Robert Benjamin, MD, has been named Vice Chair for Practice in the Department of Pediatrics, effective May 2025. In this position, he will partner with and support division practices and lead our clinical care initiatives and quality efforts.  

After receiving a medical doctorate at the Medical College of Georgia in 2000, Dr. Benjamin completed residency training in pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He came to Duke in 2006 as a clinical associate in the Department of Pediatrics, became a professor of pediatrics in 2024, and was named chief of the division of endocrinology in 2021.  

A dedicated leader, Dr. Benjamin is passionate about promoting the careers of our faculty and mentoring numerous faculty and trainees. He served as the medical director of Lenox Baker and Children's Health Center and continues to work to provide the highest level of clinical care to all patients. He also has received the department's Master Clinician Award as well as many teaching recognitions for his work.
