Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for diversity within the patient population, as well as among faculty and residents. I really wanted to join a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community, where I could feel supported and have fun! I'm glad to have found that at Duke.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
I can think of so many! Families come from all around the region to receive their care at Duke. This allows for residents to learn from diverse people with diverse problems, with a good mix of zebras and bread & butter pediatrics.

About Duke University and Durham

What’s the best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Having lived in large cities like Miami and Philadelphia, I can definitely say that living in Durham is so much easier. It's very easy to get around, and it's affordable! Small things like that truly help relieve some of the stress that comes with residency's busy schedule. I also love how there is something for everyone here, from the outdoorsy person to the Instagram foodie.
