The Pediatric Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is pleased to announce the addition of a new faculty member, Alisha Mavis, MD, who has joined the division as a transplant hepatologist. Dr. Mavis obtained her undergraduate and medical education at the University of Oklahoma before moving to Milwaukee to pursue pediatric residency and GI fellowship training. She continued her training in Chicago (Northwestern) where she did an additional fellowship year in advanced transplant hepatology. She remained at Northwestern for one year before coming to Duke. In addition to her expertise in multiple areas of routine pediatric hepatology and liver transplantation, Dr. Mavis has a specialized clinical interest in liver disease in children with complex single cardiac ventricle physiology. As the second pediatric hepatologist to join the Duke Pediatric GI team, Dr. Mavis will share responsibilities with Megan Butler, MD.
Welcome Dr. Mavis!
