New and competing renewal awards, October 2016

The following are new and competing renewal awards made to faculty in the Department of Pediatrics through the month of October 2016. 

John Rawls (Molecular Genetics & Microbiology) and Sarah Armstrong (Primary Care/Healthy Lifestyles) have received an award from the National Institutes of Health in the amount of $301,724 for a project entitled, “A Comprehensive Research Resource to Define Mechanisms Underlying Microbial Regulation of Host Metabolism in Pediatric Obesity and Obesity-Targeted Therapeutics.” The project period is 9/25/2016 – 8/31/2021.

Priya Kishnani (Medical Genetics) has received an award from Genzyme in the amount of $95,041 for a project entitled, “A Prospective Safety Sub-Registry to Assess Anaphylaxis and Severe Allergic Reactions and Severe Cutaneous and Systemic Immune-mediated Reactions with Alglucosidase Alfa Treatment.” The project period is 10/10/2016 – 9/30/2019.

Susan Kreissman (Hematology-Oncology) has received an award from CHOP (Settle Genetics) in the amount of $2,500 for a project entitled, “A Randomized Phase III Study of Brentuzimab Vedotin for Newly Diagnosed Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma in Children and Adolescents.” The project period is 10/1/2016 – 10/31/2019.

Kevin Hill (Cardiology) has received an award from the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in the amount of $15,903 for a project entitled, “Single Ventricle Reconstruction III: Brain Connectome and Neurodevelopmental Outcomes – Part II.” The project period is 1/1/2017 – 6/30/2018.

Jennifer Li (Cardiology) has received an award from the National Institutes of Health in the amount of $4,349.011 for a project entitled, “Leveraging existing registry resources to facilitate clinical trials.” The project period is 9/15/2016 – 6/30/2021.
