Cheifetz elected chair of PALISI Network

Ira Cheifetz, MD, FCCM, FAARC, professor of pediatrics and anesthesiology, executive director and CMO of Duke Children’s, associate chief medical officer of Duke University Hospital, and vice chair in the Department of Pediatrics, was elected chair of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network, effective January 2018. He will serve a three-year term from 2018 to 2021. 

PALISI is an international network of over 90 children’s hospitals that collaborate to perform clinical research to better describe disease processes, interventions, and outcomes in infants and children with critical illness with the goal of improving the care and health outcomes of critically ill infants and children throughout the world. 

Results from PALISI network collaborations have been published in several major journals, including Critical Care Medicine, JAMA, New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Transfusion, and Annals of Surgery, among others.
