Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a medium-sized program where I would be exposed to a wide variety of pediatric conditions while still maintaining a close-knit, supportive feel, which exactly describes my experience so far at Duke. More than anything, Duke felt like a good fit from my interview day and every day of intern year so far has reaffirmed that sentiment.

About Duke and Durham

What's best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
Durham is amazing! It's a very walkable city, and it has a huge variety of restaurants, parks, concert venues, etc. It has everything you need without crazy traffic, and any sort of outdoor activity is a day trip away.

Personal interests

What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to make pie! I've already been to a pie class here in Durham since moving, and between that and the farmer's market it's a perfect set up for next level baking. The Duke Gardens are also beautiful and have become a weekend ritual. There's always something new to see there and it's so nice to be able to get outside.
