Reflections on the Duke program

What were you looking for in a residency program?
I was looking for a few things in a residency program. Mostly I was looking for a group of people who were smart and hard-working but down to earth and valued a life outside of work. I also wanted a medium-sized program where I would have the breadth of exposure to become a good pediatrician without feeling lost in a sea of faces.

About Duke University and Durham

What’s the best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The best thing about living in Durham is the size of the area. It's small enough to not have traffic or feel like a big city, but big enough to offer so many exciting things to do. The food and beer scene here is amazing, and with the Durham Bulls and DPAC, you can get your fill of sports and the arts despite not living in a huge city.

Personal interests

What do you like to do outside of work?
I love food, and everything that has to do with food. I have a garden which I have been able to maintain despite a busy schedule, and I cook almost every night. On the nights that I don't cook, I'm trying out new restaurants in Durham; my list of places to try is long and keeps getting added to!
