Microdigital Fluidics/Nanotechnology

Vamula Pamula, Ph.D. Research Associate, Electrical & Computer Engineering Advanced Liquid Logic(R)

Vamsee K. Pamula got a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Duke University in 2000. His thesis included the design, test, and fabrication of MEMS-based bimetallic cantilever sensors for detection of explosive content near land mines. From 2000 on, he joined the microfluidics group as a postdoc and continuing research in developing droplet-based microfluidic platforms towards a "lab on a chip." At present collaborative research with investigators in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine have produced a hand-held device for point ot diagnosis of Pompe's and Fabry's diseases.
