Nurses in the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) at Duke University Medical Center work in a fast-paced, level IV regional referral center, providing care for a wide variety of acute and convalescing medical and surgical infants. Our patient population ranges from 23-week gestation premature infants to term infants requiring the latest in intensive care technologies, including jet ventilation, high frequency oscillatory ventilation, nitric oxide, and surgical correction of abdominal, thoracic, and neurosurgical defects.
