Division Overview

Division faculty conduct both clinical and basic research. Several faculty are members of the Children’s Oncology Group, while others are investigators within the Duke-UNC Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center funded by the National Institutes of Health. Other faculty are involved in the Duke Hemostatis and Thrombosis Center. In addition, faculty are conducting basic research related to the molecular biology of rhabdomyosarcomas.
The division has an established fellowship training program for individuals who wish to specialize in hematology-oncology. The three-year program is fully accredited by the American Council of Graduate Medical Education and offers one year of clinical training and two years of research training.
The faculty and staff of the division participate in multiple child advocacy activities, including educating the community and serving as consultants to the state and federal government.
