We understand that entering a hospital can be confusing and overwhelming for children and their families. This web site will answer many of the questions you may have if your child requires diagnostic, medical, surgical or emergency care at Duke Children’s Hospital.

Knowing as much as possible before your visit can help ease stress. For example, before you and your child arrive at Duke Children’s--whether for outpatient services or inpatient care--you will find directions and parking information and locations and contact information for clinics and services.

If your child is scheduled for surgery, you will be able to review the general process, from admission to recovery. We will also inform you about a wide range of other topics about how to prepare for your visit and what to expect.
