Fellowship Program Summary

The Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship is jointly supervised by faculty at Duke and the University of North Carolina. In the three-year program, the first year is clinical and the next two years are primarily research. The program offers many basic science opportunities both in laboratories related to rheumatology divisions and throughout the basic sciences.

The Division of Rheumatology actively participates in clinical research. Didactic training in clinical research is available, including the Duke Clinical Scholars Program and the Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Leadership Program. Consistent with the requirements of the American Board of Pediatrics, the fellow is expected to complete a research project and prepare it for publication.
